Real time's hardly all time Just one place visited Why is it that I'm living If not for the world of dreams? And nightmare's haunt me less now Since she came to me Who is she? Is she me? Who is she? Is she me? I wanna be the woman of my dreams The woman of my dreams I wanna be the woman of my dreams The woman of my dreams I've heard of her before But, you know, I've never seen her So's without, So's within We see what we believe in I wanna be the woman of my dreams The woman of my dreams I wanna be the woman of my dreams The woman of my dreams I've heard of her before But, you know, I've never seen her So's without, So's within We see what we believe in I wanna be the woman of my dreams The woman of my dreams I wanna be the woman of my dreams The woman of my dreams (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

Mr. Placebo 04:26
Mr. Placebo Shines little bits of heaven when he smiles And all earth-dwellin' worryin' subsides 'Cause he's what love is Mr. Placebo's candy-coated glance steals heart and mind Dreams and aspirations get intwined With what his love his With what his love is Mr. Placebo Says love is walkin' two steps behind him Give until there's nothin' left to find That's what my love should be Mr. Placebo Though I like you for sure Honey, you are not my cause or my cure I brought me to this fate Couldn't live for the heartache And stacked all these past mistakes against myself Yeah, it's me who put me in this prison cell And it's me who'l choose my hell or my heaven Mr. Placebo Now, honey, walk with me and I will walk beside you And we'll share a love that won't compromise we two Just think what love could be Just think what love could be (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

Woke up this morning dressed in yesterday's clothes Woke up this morning someone I've never known And she kinda looks me She kinda looks like me She got showered, dressed, ate breakfast alone Looked out at her new world then she looks at the phone Still like me she kinda misses you Still like me she knows things can't stay the same No, no, baby A wrong don't make a right Yeah, yeah, baby Let's make it right Let's make it right It's been two days later and she calls him on the phone It's been two days later and she says she's coming home She says, "We've got our love to live." She says, "I used to believe that love came sweet as a rose. Now I believe love's as sweet as we propose." No, no, baby A wrong don't make a right Yeah, yeah, baby Let's make it right Let's make it right (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

When city livin' isn't livin' somehow And it's got you wound up tight I'll be around To walk you down To talk you down Do anything you want me to I'll put my lovin' arms around you Like you've done when I've been where you are I've come to depend on you I've come to depend on you When money runs from pocket like you've got the plague And you're too sick and tired to give a damn Don't run away Just run my way You don't have to be afraid Just know my door is always open I'll put my lovin' arms around you Like you've done when I've been where you are I've come to depend on you I've come to depend on you In these streets paved in confusion You get lost tryin' to make sense When the only news is bad news And it's doin' you in I've come to depend on you I've come to depend on you When the whole world thinks you're crazy Or it just feels that way And it keeps gettin' harder to be yourself Don't give up Just phone me up You don't have to ask me once I'm right there beside you I'll put my lovin' arms around you Like you've done when I've been where you are I've come to depend on you I've come to depend on you In these streets paved in confusion You get lost tryin' to make sense When the only news is bad news And it's doin' you in I've come to depend on you I've come to depend on you (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

Who do you love when your ship has sunk to the ground? Who do you love, baby? Would you love you? Could you love you? Who do you love when your ship has come in? Who do you love, baby? Would you love you? Could you love you? Would you? Who do you love if not first you that you love? Who do you love, baby? Would you love you? Could you love you? Would you love you? Could you love you? (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

Love Song 04:27
He seeks temporary shelter When goes his storm so will he leave my arms I want him when I don't want to I love him when I don't love to Love comes my way But love won't stay Love won't stay Love wont' stay Love comes my way But love won't stay Swears he'll stay but I know he'll go his way No love lives in my haunted heart I want him, I want him not I love him, I love him not Love comes my way But love won't stay Love won't stay Love wont' stay Love comes my way But love won't stay Only passing time can make me change my mind See my future in a different way Time moves much too fast to hold to the past Love as we're here today or love won't stay Love won't stay I will look for my tomorrow with yesterday and today To face my ghosts from lovers past To free my soul from singing love won't last Love come my way Come and stay (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

Home 04:09
I'm not afraid of the dark Not like most the other kids Don't feel at home at play in the city Not sure where home is And I can't seem to find my way home Can't seem to find my way How do you find the way to where you've never been With no directions? Can't be too far from here Can't be too far Can't be too far from here Can't be too far Well, I've made this mistake before Of hitchin' rides from strangers Whose destinations weren't mine And now I'm lost I fear And I can't seem to find my way home Can't seem to find my way How do you find the way to where you've never been With no directions? Can't be too far from here Can't be too far Can't be too far from here Can't be too far I've searched a long time, Darlin' And I'm searchin' still With faith I'll find the day Where home is where I'll be Can't be too far from here Can't be too far Can't be too far from here Can't be too (c)JR Rhodes (ASCAP)

about

Known for her richly resonant vocals and evocative songwriting style, JR Rhodes offers her latest release, ‘Elixir – Vol. 1′, a re-mastered collection of her most memorable tunes.
The release of this best-of collection is part of this Seattle-based singer/songwriter’s return to active music-making after a period of study and reflection. Drawn from three studio albums recorded between 1998 and 2003, ‘Elixir – Vol. 1′s’ songs combine elements of jazz, folk and pop to frame lyrics that are both emotionally revealing and gracefully poetic. Echoes of the likes of Joan Armatrading to Bill Withers can be heard in these tracks.
